Have been in that pub a few times. The owners have one of those tracked machines the marines use for moving people in the snow

    I'll be Back?

How Magdalena Andersson became Sweden's first female PM twice

Magdalena Andersson's rise to power has been nothing short of a political soap opera, and the season finale may be yet to come.

Within a week, Sweden's parliament has voted her in as its first woman prime minister, watched her resign seven hours later amidst political turmoil and waved her back into the job after a second vote.

But for how long is the next question The other trivia is that the first try rather coolly an historic role of Sweden's first female prime minister, exactly 100 years since women first got the vote in the country.

100 years then out in a flash now back again. Anyone's head spinning?

At Christmas, 1936, Sal Dali sent a harp with barbed wire strings to Harpo Marx.
Harpo replied to Dali by sending a photo of himself with bandaged fingers!

Austria: Doctor fined for amputating wrong leg of patient

Yep and when they found out two days late they told the guy they had to remove the other one as well!

"The patient attended the clinic in Freistadt last May to have his leg amputated but the surgeon marked the wrong limb for amputation, AFP news agency reports.

The mistake was identified during a routine bandage change and the patient was told he would have to have his other leg amputated as well.

It wasn't all bad, the patient in the next bed made a very generous offer for the bloke's slippers.

In the 70s, a bloke lost both his feet in a traffic accident. He celebrated his birthday in hospital, so a few of us pitched in and bought him a pair of slippers.

Used to happen a bit too often.

AFAIK there is some standard procedure in use to prevent this......... like painting food dye on the dud limb pre-op or something like that.

I hope the Surgeon's name was Jan because when the patient was asked how they were coping they'd be able to reply all serious like, "Not happy Jan". Sorry for the attempted Mirth, but I just got carried away, just like the leg to the Hospital furnace or the Medical School. Maybe a Trade-in could have been negotiated? "One for one offer"

Of course the upside of this is that he'd probably be recovered enough to participate in the next Para Olympics. I hope they are not being held in Austria. For every Dark Cloud there is a Silver Lining sort of thing.
