You always struck me as a commando fan, James.

Cats' Eyes, the rubber, reflecting road delineates, were invented by a Yorkshireman, Percy Shaw in 1934. He patented the invention and started manufacturing them, distributing them worldwide. He received an OBE, for his idea, in 1965.
Later in life Percy was interviewed about his invention and stated the concept came to him one morning, when all he could see through the thick fog, was the eyes of a cat walking toward him. He elaborated with, if the cat had been walking away, he would have invented a pencil sharpener.

I have observed an NCO in the army take compass bearings with his hand holding his compass resting on his rifle barrel.

We didn't care if he was 1500mtrs out on his loc.

On exercise thumb up your bum and mind in neutral

After an 80 km run it is certain something would have been swinging.

I have run more than 50k a few times. I might try 80 once I can walk again properly - Admit it is a sickness

Trivia is needed to hide some silly reality for me now before I get back to work

Try building a mock up Aircraft Carrier, run speed boats around it then bow it up Being I have been involved with making old ships an other things go BANG plus on several fun Naval exercises this had me smiling.
Iran did. Could not find any I SUNK it pics.

I have to acknowledge therefore A few Exocet and Harpoon missiles missed a target once I recall during one fun time I was watching

Update- the hits are shown here The incoming missile appears to bounce off the water. Worth a look.
