I don't think Yanks comprehend penalty rates. Their basic rate isn't enough to live on, tips are required to afford (barely) to survive.

A big campaign in the US striving for $15 per hour for many may be a wow for many here!

They may have to change their minds when someone notices Hank/Hiram etc hasn't been seen around the depot for 97 years.

When asked his whereabouts his colleagues would probably say "Don't you recall Boss, you sent him in charge of the Sanitation Team for that "olde" (by then) telescope?"

He should be just about ready to arrive this week. Silly olde bugger, he was muttering summat about Long Service Leave when he got back".

Some of the regular guys on the LR section of Pirate 4x4 in the US were workshop managers on $14 US / hr around the time of the GFC.

    Warped capitalism verging on slavery.

Just thought I'd mention I've been rewatching Bush Tucker Man with Les Hiddens. What a great show. Les is a legend.
    Love the Landy too.
It's getting lots of viewers on YouTube. There are 25 episodes.
I sent the link to a Canadian friend who thinks it's great.

I run a mac through the phone and watching all the episodes trashed the data allowance one month recently.

Also.............. he's driving an awesome, capable, simple, reliable vehicle.

I wonder why the army don't have a fleet of D4's for people working in that country, with motor driven aircon?

I understood his S3 & Trailer were from Surplus.

In those work conditions the Body Shock Temperatures getting in & out of an AC'd vehicle would have been detrimental to soldiering which they were originally designed for.

    Agree totally with that.

I was part of a team that did a big fish survey in Feb, in SW Vic for a number of years.

Aircon was left off, windows down in the cars all day for this very reason.
