    The Biggest loser

Billionaires can do it as well as us little fish.

A car company and social media owner getting a guniess book of records entry "Elon Musk breaks Guinness World Record for ‘largest loss of personal fortune in history’

    "

A few others are grumpy and trying hard to lose even more to beat the record holder perhaps

"Adani crisis ignites India contagion fears, credit warnings Amid concerns turmoil could over into broader financial system, India’s central bank has asked lenders for loan details, sources say."

How chaos can spread is a question. Pandemic like or contained in a box? Adani is rather big. Not to big to fail!

Evergrande China - Chinese view is a little diferent to some reports of course "Average new home prices in China's 70 major cities dropped by 1.5 percent year-on-year in December 2022, after a 1.6 percent decline in the previous month which was the steepest pace since August 2015, amid a property downturn due to a mounting debt problem among developers as well as the impact of a surge in COVID cases. Among the Chinese biggest cities, prices fell in both Tianjin (-4.0% vs 4.0% in November) and Shenzhen (-0.2% after flat reading) while Chongqing saw a flat price following a 0.7 percent rise previously. Meantime, prices grew faster in Beijing (5.8% vs 5.7%), Shanghai (4.1% vs 4.0%), and Guangzhou (0.4% vs 0.2%).On a monthly basis, new home prices were down 0.2 percent in December, the same as in November, pointing to the fifth monthly decrease. The property sector is expected to recover gradually this year, supported by a series of measures for home buyers and developers on the back of Beijing's abrupt reopening.. source: National Bureau of Statistics of China"

On the flip side Billion $ mergers and similar financial avalanches and "US adds a surprisingly strong 517,000 jobs despite Fed hikes" suggest while some big lumps and bumps, much of the world is not in such poor shape?

I always think If I get up and can, eat, drink and walk/ run life is dammed good myself - Much better than being Dead!

Try doing those things when you are dead. Doesn't work I reckon is a safe bet.
Yep one would think so wouldn't one, although it is a tad difficult to really know what it is like on the other side unless you know someone who has been there & come back. Hang on there was one (Packer senior) that did & was brought back to life but he was quoted as saying something like "Don't kid yourself there's nothing there."

He should have come back if only to stop his now stupid Billionaire Son making a fool of himself with various women around the world while blowing his inheritance.

    Melbourne's first trams were horsedrawn.

The cable tram network started in 1885, and expanded over the next fifty odd years, with the last line closing in 1940. They were operated by steam powered winches throughout their life. At their peak, they were among the largest cable tram networks in the world.

Sporadically, horsedrawn trams came and went, and from 1889, the first electric line, Box Hill to Doncaster, started. It had a short life, but gradually successful lines were electric, and over decades these replaced cable trams. The tram network has continued to expand slowly over the years.
