NavyDiver, re the Chinese Navy sonar incident when RAN divers were in the water, do RAN (or other navies’ ships) display a dive flag when divers are working (in peace time)?

If so, shouldn’t the Chinese vessel have seen it?

As an aside, I was watching a TV programme recently and the American dive flag was different to the one displayed when I dived.

They do not seem to be very courteous as past experience has shown.

Why would you kick the SONAR into gear when visibly close to other vessels unless it was mischievous?
But do it to them & WW3 could break out.


A bit like turning on your powerful MAIN RADAR in harbour & blowing up other ship's electronics apparently.


I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them.

Flag Alpha was up. There was also a radio chat between both ships. It was a deliberate and dangerous action. That ship and the commander will not be welcome on goodwill visits anywhere except north Korea or Russia perhaps

The captain should be given a permanent posting to Nth Korea or Russia perhaps on an icebreaker.
