My big flatbed trailer (relatively - 3.5x2 approx) with sides and tailgate about 30cm high, had a tailgate made of 50mm reinforcing mesh when I got it.

As I found that I was losing things like fence posts out of it when fencing etc, I soon replaced the mesh with flat galvaniised steel.

And found that it was like driving with the handbrake on once you got above about 60-70. But this is not comparable to a ute or pickup - no cab. And the towbar is around 2.5m, so the tailgate is a long way behind the towing vehicle. (The fixed headboard is the same height as the sides, but since it is fixed, it is a bit hard to tell how much drag it provides.

Fluid dynamics is a complex art. Utterly amazing what a 5mm shift in a little panel can make to an F1 car.

Not just F1 cars. One bit long neglected on ordinary cars is the airflow under the car. Notlong after the introduction of the Citroen DS19 in 1955, the company was able to confirm that the self levelling suspension was responsible for maintaining the same optimum aerodynamic drag regardless of load, unlike almost every other car on the road. And a decade later, a revision of underbody streamlining was able to significantly improve what was already far better than anything else available.

    Checking if someone is home

I tend to check before dropping in. It seems common sense?

"Heavily armed federal agents blew the door off a suspect’s home in Huntington Park, south of Los Angeles, when he wasn’t there. But his girlfriend and kids were.
The incident took place early on Friday morning as the authorities used a drone to search room by room for a man officials say rammed a federal vehicle during immigration raids last week."

Unless you're a grumpy type blowing doors off "If they would've knocked on my door I would have opened the door, but they blew up the window and door first," said Jenny Ramirez, Sierra's girlfriend. "There didn't have to be that violence to enter my house."

    In our game we use it all day,air pressures,duct pressures,fan curves,coil pressure drops,fan blade pitches,pully sizing,sytem air balancing,system condenser and chilled water balancing,pump flows,refrigerant liquid,hot gas,and suction flows,and on it goes.

The big issue is finding techs that have good experience in fluid dynamics.
