"Thousands in Norway told they won up to millions in lottery error

Scores of Norwegians thought they had become millionaires after receiving a notification from the state-owned gambling company saying they had won eye-watering sums - until it turned out it was a mistake."Several thousand" people who won prizes in the Eurojackpot were notified of incorrect amounts on Friday, Norsk Tipping said. The company declined to confirm the exact number of those impacted to the BBC.
Norsk Tipping CEO Tonje Sagstuen apologised and resigned a day later.
An error in the conversion from Eurocents to Norwegian kroner caused the prize amounts to be "excessively high", the company said. The amount was multiplied by 100, instead of being divided by 100, local media reported."

Peak waves have hit around 12 metres this morning along the southern NSW coast and hit 10m off the Sydney coast late Tuesday.

Triva is most of the Storm or Beaufort scale Force 8 was offshore. I like a bit of rough water

I'm not sure my sister would share your jollies. She and her husband were on a cruise circumnavigating Greenland last year when the ship had to take refuge in an unscheduled port on the northeast side of the island, due to 12 metre waves. She spent a whole day on the toilet, not because she was ill or needed the loo, but it was the only place she could sit that wasn't doing laps of the unit.
They had a balcony apartment that a crew member came and locked to prevent them going outside. All passengers were forbidden to go on deck.

We had a front cabin on the Spirit of Tasmania on the trip south,in April.
The waves hit the windows of the cabin most of the night.

The return trip was nice and smooth.

Good the car was hidden away somewhere down low,unlike a trip a few years back on the barge coming back from Moreton island in rough weather, the waves were breaking over 15 or so vehicles regularly for over half an hour.
Luckily our vehicle was down the back,but it still got salt spray all over it.

Just met my new mate across the road. A Commercial diver and also did jollies picking up boats and taking them a long way for a bit of coin.

His yarn of getting himself and a mate off a big dual hull boat and into a very small life raft in Sea state 8ish with 10metre waves and Helicopter unable to get them out due to the high wind and waves. A Ship picked them up with a very wet, green and almost grumpy crew who felt the rescue was a bit more than their pay rates

I honestly felt the way of the rescue crew at times with the bloody Airforce types who kept crashing into my oceans (RIP seriously)
