The water used seems to have a big impact on the taste of the beer. Many years ago lived in London and the local pub had VB on tap. Now normally would not touch it but gave it a try. Was actually drinkable as did not taste like the stuff at home. Whenever had visitors over from Australia used to take them to the pub and buy them a drink only telling them when at it was after they had had a few mouth fulls. None would believe me it was the green death they were drinking. Most actually liked it
