Where is the evidence that the Internet has killed critical thinking?

I can't imagine how much more difficult and constrained my research at uni would have been without instant access to hundreds if not thousands of journals online.

Maybe there is an under-appreciation of the potentially advanced information processing skills of the current generation as they adapt to their digital environment and the dramatic increase of information available to them?

I wonder if there was a similar generational shift following the proliferation of the printing press?

There was. Catholic priests were horrified at the idea the ignorant masses could read the Bible for themselves, rather than going through a priest. They might get it wrong!
The result was the Reformation, based on the priesthood of all believers.

There is a difference between "parks" and "Parkes"! In Parkes, each January you will find several thousand Elvis. (Or is it Elvises?)

From memory (been over sixty years), if 'elvis' was a third declension noun, the plural would be 'elves', but that only raises more problems, seeing that is a homonym for the plural of a different English word, 'elf'.
