In spite of the fact that I enjoyed the joke about the positive post, I have never called that pert of a battery a post. It was always a terminal.
Is that another example of an Australian word being replaced by an American one? Or would that sound too much like a conspiracy?

I would like to think that Ktrystal Tini was posting a parody of the extremist views of those who want to deny the safety and efficacy of vaccines, but I have discovered that there really are people who believe nonsense like that.
I am reminded of Poe's Law.
Even though this was a Twitter post, it seems to be further justification for the comment that I saw recently. The poster said he would no longer refer to the social media platform as Facebook. In future he would refer to it as Dunning-Kruger National Park.Poe's law is an adage of Internet culture stating that, without a clear indicator of the author's intent, every parody of extreme views can be mistaken by some readers for a sincere expression of the views being parodied.

I always believed the combination of the clamp and post to be the terminal.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I just looked at a few site that sell batteries in Australia. Some called them posts and some called them terminals.
I wonder if it is a state based difference. A bit like being surprised that my cousin in Sydney wore cossies to go swimming while all of us on the North Coast wore togs.

Like we in SA call it Fritz, or sometimes Bung Fritz, Vics call it German Sausage/Devon, or they did back in the days of yore. Probably some high highfalutin' name they have nowadays like Luncheon Roll.
Acc. to Gargle it is also known as "Slicing Sausage". Well I''l be ****ed!
