The reason for that is that you don't chew them thoroughly before swallowing, I thought everybody knew that. A tad drop of Lemon Juice & olive oil is supposed to assist.


I am also" reliably" informed if also taken with a few Table Spoons of the best Russian Caviar can also assist consumption.

When I was working in the Simpson (year round) in the mid sixties, we were living in tents. Only airconditioning (which did not work most of the time) was in the office caravan.

There were a lot of flies after the first rain in ten years. The kitchen caravan was far from fly-proof.

One of the dishes the cook tried to help the blokes keep cool was jelly. Some of us were wondering why he put currants in it ..... until someone with particularly good eyesight realised that the currants had wings. And promptly told the whole camp.

We had the same when my parents use to cook freshly shot rabbits,particularly rabbit stew.

No wings on the currents,but on occasions the currents used to end up in the stew.

Us kids used to laugh and joke about it for days,about who ended up with the currents on their plate.
