Where did the saying "the four corners of the earth" come from?

If the earth is flat , who says it's square?

If it's cubic it would have 8 corners....wouldn't it?

Who was the pilot who supposedly flew over the north and south poles but never saw them? He was also looking for the openings/entrances into the centre of the earth.

Who said north is up? Don't the poles change polarity every so often?

After they've changed polarity a few times how do you know which way's up?
