That big storm on Sunday arvo gave us 7" at Norman Park. All the dead crap from the drought had washed down my storm drain and blocked it. Lovely steady rain here this morning. We just made it home from our 4km walk before it started. BOM said it would come this arvo or evening, so it's come early.
The Navigator and I had begun extending the chook run for our new chicks, so now we're waiting for a gap in the rain to concrete in some posts.
Need to get this done so we can concentrate on preparing to go to Tassie later this month.
Forecast is for more rain this week, which is certainly needed, particularly in fire areas. The wildlife need fresh pick to feed them through winter or a lot of animals will starve. The bats here have moved into trees in town because forest food is lacking.

Rain started around 10.00PM last night here in Westlake, continued for a good part bof the night . Nothing this morning as yet but looking & feeling like we could get some more today.
Only down side the dog who is blind dose not like thunder & want's to be with you in a storm , so had him in the bedroom wandering around walking into walls & things all night keeping us awake.

Rained all the way from Dalby to west of Roma yesterday evening. Evidence of rain all the way to Barcaldine.

Thunderstorm here last night for a bit over an hour. Not a drop since. The promised rain bomb is a UXB.

Rain got heavier here today, with strong winds. Great to hear water filling the tanks.

Tonight's forecast includes rain for a week, starting tomorrow night.

Last time there was a forecast like that we got a dust storm that made the national news!
