Well after the rain we had recently our grass was finally looking good & now the dreaded Lawn Grubs have arrived & it is not looking good at all. I went to Bunnings for some spray & Lawn Grub spray is like toilet paper the shelves are empty. I eventually found some one to help me to get the lase box of spray down from the top of the shelving, so between the 4 of us there looking for the same product they are now out of stock. It is now looking like it is going to rain again so may leave it to a better looking day to use it.

Yep, did the house yard for grub two days ago after the wife noticed white moths and a few 'Pony Tails' hanging around.

Bin chickens do a number on the lawn grub, round here.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Indian Runner ducks are great at insect control. Let them out of their pen in the morning and they forage endlessly all day. No snails or grubs in an Indian Runner patrolled garden.

Our Wyandot hens also do a good grub patrol, as do magpies. The BIL swears by guinea fowl, which also do ticks and annoy snakes until they leave.

Not bad. Consistent. Our main problem has been keeping the Pythons out of the chook shed.

Yes, that's true. The problem is guinea fowl are also noisy buggers, plus they beat up the chooks, including the roosters, so we'll give them a miss. The BIL's roosters are terrified of the guinea fowl and just run away and cower in the corner.
