Got back too the farm yesterday to “save” the old man
He has been taking himself up to my farm mid week to “check the animals are ok”
(I think it’s more just an excuse to get away from his Thai bride)
He got there Wednesday morning and we had had 17mm
Middle of the night he was woken to thunder lightning and rain hitting the tin roof
As he got up he realised his feet were wet
Water was coming in between the floor and the walls and had flooded the whole place
The rain settled for a while so he took a drive to check the goats were on high ground, one flock had found a slasher to squeeze onto to keep there feet out of the water
As he drove towards the river, his dog ran ahead and didn’t realise the mighty Moore had risen almost to the top and ended up getting swept away, old boy managed to get him at the bend
No chance of checking the goats in the front paddock or getting home
When I got there the river had settled to about 2 foot deep
Rain gauge had over 4 inches🥳🥳
Dam was full, first time in a couple of years it’s got over 3 foot deep (jetty 3.5 metres at deepest point)
I’ll now have to wait until next year to finish the jetty I’d started ☹️
The kids and the dog were like pigs in ****, couldn’t keep them out of the dam
Managed to drag the 2wd hilux through the river (told the kids to get some photos but they were too busy having a laugh at poppy)

'sit bonum tempora volvunt'
Started about 1700, with much thunder, lightning, and very heavy rain, with wind estimated at 100kph. Eased off and gradually stopped. Still raining just before dark when there had been about 35mm.
I'll have to take a run round tomorrow and see how much damage there is.

Flood risk in NSW, Sydney in for a soaking.
Towns likely to be affected include Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Woolgoolga, Sawtell, Bellingen and Dorrigo. The rain band will move south, towards Sydney, on Friday and into the weekend.
“This is a potentially dangerous and developing weather situation,” BOM meteorologist Sarah Scully said.

We're already wet here in SYD. It's been raining pretty much all day.
Cheers, Billy.
Keeping it simple is complicated.
Had over 35mm here in Bridgeman Downs yesterday. Today has been overcast with occasional, very light showers.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
26.5mm in the gauge this morning.
