I have both here. The rainbow lorikeets are more than a match for the cockies, but they aren't here all the time, and the cockies are. Both of them drive off the king parrots, which I love.

I call the lorikeets 'angry birds', as they take on anything, including wattle birds, butcher birds, maggies and currawongs.

I have so many cockies here, I wish that they ate possums.....

Had a kookaburra with a 30cm lizard in its mouth outside at 7am this morning as I was returning from a swim/rehab gym fun. It was trying to move the still wiggling lizard to allow it to get eaten at the tail or head while two others tried to steal it. They made a fanatic racket much funnier than the alarm clock for the late sleepers

The Kookas are welcome at my place. They catch the young snakes. Great fun to watch them grab one by the tail and swing it over head and bash it on the ground. Then swing in the other direction and bash it again...... time and time again. Never seen any other Kooka try and pinch it. May be they recognize that the loose end has the bitey bit.

    Hi,
Caught a mouse in a trap the other night. Offered it to the Kookaburra for breakfast.
Greatfully accepted, and still wanted his usual treats.
    Cheers

They pick a half grown apple, open it to take the seeds and then drop it onto the roof ....bang bang bang.........and proceed to the next apple with much screeching at max voice output.
Ah, Granny Smith Apples all over the manor? I'd like to see that, it'd be better than Blackberries.

Yesterday went looking for the source of blowies in the house. Found the mutt had managed to open a sliding glass door and failed to shut it after herself, leaving it open about six inches. "I wonder how many mice that let in?".

At least one, which managed to find one of the traps in the pantry just before lunch. Hope that is all.

    RIGHT!
    This is getting serious!
I was unlocking the containers under he Bloodwood tree this morning when a Lorikeet pooed on me.
Maybe this should be in the conspiracy thread because,
I think these Lorikeets are out to get me!

    The war continues!

Maybe you should consider removing the Red White & Blue Target Symbol from the top of your RM?

It isn't personal, it is just your hat.

However, if it turns out they are gunning for you, you'd better let a Mod have the local Coppers Contact details in case you are found buried under a big heap of Lorikeet Crap one morning.

Irwin? Yeah I guess so, Ian.

JEZUZ! Google tells me her old man was apparently worth A$10 million when the Ray got him. For him it was the Death Ray.

    Another Aussie battler.
