Pre-NBN back haul ISPs were always working on maintenance upgrades.
Post NBN, and with a company with high CVC we never have a problem. Drop outs are almost non-existent. I do keep 5G fall over in place though for alarms and security cameras.

Our office/workshop is only about 5km from a uni here in God's own but we only have a 4G dongle as our link to the world (and head office)
It just blows us away that we've had 5 NBN Co appointments to get connected but they continue to be no shows with no notification and only one 'sorry' letter so far. ( and that was a generic, unsigned letter at that)
I got called "A Grumpy Bastard!" today.
I was quite amused but as I was dressing some down at the time I hade to keep the smirk off my face.

Just be happy Rick, that you weren't dealing with AGL. We had so many no show appointments & **** weak idjits to deal with. This was to have the "New" Digital Power Meters installed.
We had one bloke who arrived parked up & got his rule Book out & without saying a word to us just buggered off again. No explanation or owt. Found out later it was a tad "too hard" for him . In the end two old school Can Do techs turned up with the words "We are throwing the Rule book away today mate".
As the saying goes These blokes (not the above)"couldn't work in an Iron Lung".
Job all done in two hours, finito. Gone.
It took the Power Ombudsman to sort that lot out
Trouble is with NBN they use ex TELECOM blokes that were shafted by Telecom so had the same work ethic ie. Laziness being the main one & not being able to work things out for them selves.
Anyway Best Wishes in getting your job done. You need to go somewhere nice for a small vacation.[bigrolf]
After 3 weeks of many calls to sort out the NBN mess at my Mothers place,i eventually got onto the Ombudsman, and surprisingly it was all sorted the next day.
Luckily she had a mobile so wasn't completely isolated at the time.
They made a huge mess of it at our office/ workshop as well,i cant remember exactly what went on,but we did apply for, and received compensation.
That is what we thought with AGL after we got our compo, but I have said to 'er indoors keep an eye on the bills as I reckon the bastards will claw it back over time but so far so good. As I recall, it was a couple of tonne we got back.
This was at the time in SA that no-body could get any sense out of them & folk all over the state were complaining at the delays. There were incomplete houses & businesses that couldn't get a connection so no-one was getting paid.
After over a year complaining about out NBN or lack of it our supplier offered to increase our speed to max speed because they could not fix it,
at no cost to us after I contacted the CEO of our supplier. Now a year with a top speed of 20 on a good day normally about 3 most days , I have received an email telling me they are going to decrease our speed to half & if I want the faster speed I will need to pay an extra $110. Just waiting to see what happens after halve it mid September . Could be getting my A/C from a different company I think after over 50 years with my present company.
I know a bloke who worked for an NBN install company. His job was to go in and fix the problem cases the other installers had messed up. He was very busy, until he quit and retired to go sailing.
