Yeah, God help that kid if he scratches the Duco with the Cap Badge if he drops it though it could have backfired on the kid Cops could have found the Model Toy yellow Tip Truck, Car Carrier & Holden Car were on the tea leaves list of stolen crap, felt his collar & banged him up. That would have made the news as well, for the wrong reasons.



I have always seen the NZ cops as a kindlier cut above the rest from their Docos.

None of that blazing away past your partner & into an innocent member of the public as happened in the US.


Chances are they seem so nice they wouldn't know how to use their guns, or ask the Perp to hold it while they get out the Instruction Book.

Just my observation.

Point a gun at and kill someone when not wanting to kill some one is clearly very very distressing. I feel sorry for the family and Mr Baldwin yet I find it odd.

Basic common sense is to check if a fire arm is safe. A real gun or prop looks the same. Just because something is used as a prop doesn't mean it is not real.

Not meaning to toss a brick yet I feel it is gross negligence at best and more likely manslaughter.

Whats the first thing one is taught when handed a weapon?

*********1. Remove the Mag.

2.Cock it while the barrel is facing the ground or into free space.

3. Operate the cocking mechanism a couple of times & see if any ammo is ejected.

4.Visually inspect the workings.

If it is a Revolver inspect the rotating MAG. for rounds.


Should be a piece of cake for a qualified Armourer without thinking too much about it.

And apparently the standard MO (sorry) on a film shoot (sorry again) is that the weapon is deliberately not aimed at anyone, ever, when it's fired during filming.

Editing is done to achieve the 'realism'. Dunno what's gone wrong here.
