That is really strange, unless the mob is getting to many complaints about their business dealings and have hired hackers to stop that, try typing this address in the search bar afca.org.au

Is my company Insolvent? It may be!!!

Laws and changes Your Doctor, The Practice and PAYROLL Tax- NSW and Vic Only apparently

My inexpert view from TAX prior life has always been I (The Practice/Medical centre) work for the Doctor(s).

I think that changes for PAYG W at Federal tax type and Payroll State Tax types if GP practice employe Doctors and/or during GP training in particular that it is an Employer /employee relationship.

    PAYG withholding ATO information

    RACGP Payroll Tax and Doctors

The AMA NSW thoughts are a worry plus LINK

"Recent decisions have raised concerns that a broader interpretation of payroll tax will mean more medical practices will be liable for payroll tax. How did we get here? HWL Ebsworth explains.

Payroll tax liability has been a prevalent issue for medical practices for some time. A medical practice will be liable for payroll tax if its payroll exceeds a threshold of $1.2 million in a financial year. Recent case law has made it clear that payroll is not just payable on employees but may also be payable on ‘contractor’ doctors. Revenue NSW may consider a contract to be a ‘relevant contract’ for the purposes of the Payroll Tax Act (2007), and their wages will count towards a practice’s overall payroll liability.

    "
I am now paying for accounting and Legal Opinion that Doctors who a Practice provides the billing services for and transfers what was always the Doctors money to less the agreed practice charge/cost is or is not subject to payroll tax?

If so and IF I need to pay for that for the last 5 years I am bankrupt- Worse as a Company IF I know that I must cease trading now or break Corporate laws!!

Grumpy is an understatement!! I am speechless for a
    change.

As you probably are the one in your practice getting 1.2 mill. I can't see a problem with going broke, James.

If you do I'm sure we can bail you out provided you flog ALL your motors. ICE & EV. off to the auction rooms.. I know, a tough pill to swallow but needs must in these hard times.

Oddly not even close Des on what the practice gets. Covers rent, payroll and just a bit more!. The million $$$ would be what the States of NSW and Vic want from your Doctor, Dentist and ........ Who do you think might pay for that soon?

I am out of it in a few weeks now. I will set it up then go for a long run and live on my Perth sewerage farm pyrolysis, NZ Rabbit poo bacteria and my mad scientist long time love of the "the heaviest natural occuring element" I know there is some other stuff made a bit heavier

Disco is in other good hands. The short range MG is for sale.

VIC and NSW rulings on payroll tax for medical centres - August 2023 on Vimeo if you're bored only !!!! One hour plus and only a few minutes of what I needed as usual.
