A great old lag T Tech arrived out of the blue one day chucked his ladder up against the pole, strung a new cable & was on the ground in "two shakes of a Lamb's tail" made the final connection elsewhere & Voila, job done. It is as though each Gang hasn't a clue what another repair gang has done or is doing or plans to do.

A scary thought is this geezer from the Asian subcontinent eventually could get a job with NBN & so the the crap service continues.

    Aren't the techs contractors now?
We had one in recently and he couldn't access any Telstra information to show the location of our street connection.
Fortunately we dug around and found it buried under a bush and a mound of leaf litter which was outside our boundary and in the road reserve. Telstra had no idea.

Correct, DM. Contractors they be and we had your problem in our last episode whereby the techs' 'Tablets' couldn't clearly show any pits or, if in fact, there were any.

When he zoomed the tablet lost area definition and when moozed, it showed a mish mash of comms, which made ID of a particular pit or pole impossible. In fact, it was only when I mentioned to the last tech to show up that one would think there would be a pit at the base of our property pole, as the phone line is underground from the pole to the house, that he had a dig around, found the pit and rectified the situation. None of the other crew had even looked for the pit probably because it didn't show on the database. You think their training would have made it obvious that there'd be a pit for the transition from o/head to u/ground.

Ah ha Mick, it sounds like it was you that dug the "Bandicoot" hole but simply forgot about it.

No idea if they are contractors or not, but my bloke Gunga Din, appeared to be managed by some geezer who, & I have mentioned this previously, had apparently been moved from some obscure Section but wasn't even a Tech or Liney although I believe they have merged both trades into one these days. Maybe he came from Catering or Flower Arranging?

I notice Channel 9 hasn't raised its cameras, so obviously my feedback is being ignored.

    Could be, Mick.
I get the impression that "Feedback" is meant to look good only, & not that anyone will consider or take any action. Maybe these people should re title it to "Arrogance".

It is Ch 9 after all.

DM, did you mean to type 'Standards' instead of 'Cameras'?

Ha Ha, no I was talking about the height of the cameras positioned behind the receivers, which were at ankle height, giving a view straight up the bum crack. Grumpy old buggers thread

    Red what? Oh I see.

But not for long, I'll bet.
