    Grumpily funny, I suppose.

For a Christmas gift, I bought Helen an Icam which, until yesterday, had been happily ensconced on our deck, keeping an eye on all things great and small.
Well, over the last week, we have been experiencing some serious earthworks around our vegie gardens carried out by creatures unknown. Being what I would call 'An intelligent sort of cove', I decided to relocate the camera to monitor the vegies. Now, it took me a while to position it at the best strategic position and I was pretty damn chuffed with my effort, proudly demonstrating the set up to my wife, on her return home from work.
For ease of operation, I have the camera connected to my mobile and the house desktop. On bedtime I activated the motion sensor alarm which triggers a car alarm type sound from the camera and a trilling sound on the desktop.
At 0135 both alarms went off, with me initially thinking 'WTF is that?', as I'd immediately forgotten about them. On Helen reminding me of the camera, we raced to the desktop and there, on the screen, was nothing but the vegie patch. Ah, well, back to bed.
This scenario was repeated at 0240, 0310, 0430 and 0500. However, at the 0500 event, Helen noticed that there was a large night spider who had cast her web across the camera's field of view at a distance of around 50 cm and that, any time something would hit the web, the spider would scuttle into camera range. I'm now need to relocate the camera so as to avoid a replay. (I hate damaging any spider's web).

Ah, "The best laid plans etc" eh?

Back in the good olde days you probably would have stood watch all night with a baseball bat & a Big Jim Torch.

One of our sons has a front door bell with camera like that. Every time someone walks up to the front steps he gets a phone text link to a video. He can open the video link and then talk directly to the person at the door, and hear their reply, through the doorbell.
Has had some amusing conversations with startled visitors, along the lines of, "Whatta you want?" Grumpy old buggers thread
The doorbells can be bought in Aldi, of all places.

I dunno, maybe I do, maybe I don't, but as VW and its lack of morality and ethics are so widely known that its hard to believe that the power that be in Telstra dont know about it. So then the only logical conclusion is that they (Telstra) are quite fine with dealing with such companies as VW.

In a age of moving towards accountability (or supposedly so) where companies can't just play ignorant of where raw materials come from and its effects on local communities.
examples such as clothing, diamonds, timber, minerals used in electronics, recycling all seem to be in the lime light more and more, as they should be.

This same scrutiny doesnt seem to be applied to the motor vehicle manufacturing industry.
    Regards

Dazza, don't forget that the average IQ in Australia is around 100, so half the population are below that...

A funny??? grumpy old ( ok not so old) bugger

"Tesla's founder Elon Musk wiped $14bn off the carmaker's value after tweeting that its share price was too high. The tweet also knocked $3bn off Mr Musk's own stake in Tesla as investors promptly bailed out of the company.
"Tesla stock price too high imo," he said, one of several tweets that included a vow to sell his possessions.
In other tweets, he said his girlfriend was mad at him, while another simply read: "Rage, rage against the dying of the light of consciousness."
In 2018, a tweet about Tesla's future on the New York stock market led to regulators fining him $20m and agreeing to have all further posts on the platform pre-screened by lawyers."

Oddly he would have been getting large bounus had the share price remained high "Tesla's share price has surged this year, putting the electric carmaker's value at close to $100bn, a mark that would trigger a bonus payment of hundreds of millions of dollars to the entrepreneur."

A own goal? After the pedo guy kurffufle and prior form with the 20 million dollar fine perhaps he should toss the tweet
