On Grumpy OLD Buggers- sitting a few back at traffic lights recently - Lights go green and - - - --- red again and the car in front just gets away after some one toots a bit ( wasn't me) five times over the last week. Using mobile phone while sitting at the front or anywhere at traffic lights

Grumpy mark 2. Car park drop off- One way in and one way out shared by the Bus interchange. A Bus broke down blocking the exit. Bus and all cars in the car park now stuck. 40 minutes later the entrance to the car park was turned into a exit.
    1. Want to guess how many drivers argued with the staff blocking them from trying to enter so people good get out? Lots
    2. The person closest to the bus drove over the garden beds beside the bus and is now stuck as well- Mercedes/VW?? may need some panels straightened- it got stuck as well

I parked and went for a walk. Now I am grumpy- I had Surgery on Saturday - no running or heavy lifting for a month. I will leave walking much more for a week! A little ouch- It was minor cosmetic surgery - Small groin Hernia fixed no lump makes me beautiful?

A bus can be difficult to push.... Been there, tried to do that.

Also annoying is a turn lane with several cars, waiting for a green arrow. Arrow turns green, first couple of cars move off briskly, but the car behind them does one kilometre an hour around the turn and costs cars behind them, the light. I really hate that!

Another one is: Drivers who don't seem to understand that modern vehicles can handle and corner better than vehicles of the 60s.
There really isn't a need to brake at every deviation from a straight line! As an aside to this is drivers who have their left foot on the brake pedal, so the brake lights are always in play.

Some vehicles that will confuse the vehicle and all sorts of issues will arise.

What about the drivers that see a speed sign that is lower than the speed zone they are in and slam the brakes on.
Seems they can’t see ahead and coast down to the lower limit and continue on.

Do not worry yourself about them for they belong to another age usually of *ankers.

When watching TV I am often overheard saying similar(usually to myself), "who the flying **** is this bloke/sheila after the Channel has just given them all this so called publicity & helped to blow their egos up nearly to bursting point.

This is a time when Google is not my friend so I never find out. Narrow escape .

    Spot on Paul,

Reading the road ahead should be part of a Driving test, maybe it is today but for 70 years I have had my licence back in the Horse team & Wagon days.

There is a still a lot of good music produced. You have to listen to certain radio stations, though.

I look back at a lot of the songs from the 50s and 60s and realise that there was a hell of a lot of meaningless, commercial ****.

"Mares eat oats and Does eat oats'! FFS

"My Friend the Witch doctor" Ditto

    "Purple People Eater"

Ahh, so that's where I go wrong. I haven't listened to radio for maybe 20 years.. well, apart from footy. When I had to go into workplaces where the radio was blaring with nobody listening it always seemed to me that there were maybe two "songs" and then twenty minutes of some nobody trying to sound important being dominated by ads for things I will never buy. I am aware of JJJ ( in fact I heard the first song ever played on it's parent, JJ), but I'm not 15, and "community radio" but simply can't be bothered, as just when you think you've fond something good the presenter's shift ends and the next bloke is a headbanging Goth, or something...

I see the 50s were influential on you. I had, fortunately, forgotten those three. But come on, whole theses have been written on the meaning of the line "He wears short shorts".

I am convinced that most of them exist in a world made up of straight lines, laid out on flat, featureless ground, in grid fashion. All roads end in a controlled junction. There are white lines and neat kerb and channel everywhere, and there are few decisions to be made, as it is all regimented.
So, they choose to make one of the few decisions left to them, and put granny in the car and go for a Sunday drive up to the Dandenongs, where they are constantly startled by the bends and curves, and positively terrified of trees. "Look! There's a tree! Oh no! There's another one!" Still, keeps the brake services busy.
Most are driving $100K+ cars, but they seem to be some special low power model, as they are incapable of overtaking the many cyclists that can be found doing 10 Kmh up the "occasional" hill they encounter.
I tend to stay at home on weekends and PHs, as it can take 15 minutes to get out of my street. If they must have "Devonshire Teas", why don't they go and live in Devon?

Been to Port Fairy recently John?

It was 100kph Warrnabool to Port Fairy except one or two little bits. Its largely 60 kph or less even in the 100kph bits with patients needed plus Portland part is not that bad yet

And the Princes Highway is Precious - Hamilton hwy is my choice most of the time
