I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Full list of road closures due to fires in NSW and QLD

Just noticed these are for earlier fires. I will try to get updated info.

I'll just add to that, if you look at the "fires near me" website, Fires Near Me, you can see that there are fires close to a number of major roads, and given the weather today you can expect some of these to close some time during the day. This applies especially to the Great Western Highway, the Princes Highway and the Hume. because of this, alternative routes are likely to have heavier than normal traffic, in some cases leading to very slow progress, especially if there is an accident or a new fire.

The general recommendation for today from the NSW RFS is "Stay where you are unless you have to drive to escape fire threats". This applies especially to anyone wanting to leave Greater Sydney.

Well I was waiting on a standby for a crew change at 0130 this morning, a mate from my brigade was hospitalised yesterday and still is along with a number of firefighters.
This is what happens when retards **** about with gas cylinders near an ignition source. Wrecked a fair few people's Christmas I'd say. So maybe not horrific, but certainly not funny. Especially when the whole thing could have been avoided.

This IS a media "Beat Up" as the cause of the fire had bugger all to do with the 40C heat, It was caused by ****wits Not the Weather.
Sure it was Horrific But it had bugger all to do with the weather like the news article alluded to, Are the climate change zealots going to link EVERY fire to "Climate Change" regardless of the cause of the fire now??

Yeah you're right, no big deal & definitely a "media beat up". We live not far from there, & for sure I wouldn't want to have been close the explosions, but it was under control in no time.

    Yet another news "Beat Up"
    https://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/falling-tree-branch-kills-woman-in-melbourne-as-victorian-heat-records-broken-bushfire-flares/ar-BBYcWJY?ocid=spartanntp

Yes it is awful that this woman died from this gum tree branch falling on the car But her death only rated half a sentence in the article.
Halfway through the first sentence the article then goes on about the bushfires which has nothing whatsoever to do with this branch falling.
    WTF???
