When the Salvation Army started supplying two people to work with police on Friday and Saturday nights in the CBD of Melbourne to hand out-
1. Syringes to drug users.
2. Bottles of water and thongs to drunken girls so they didn’t dehydrate or cut their feet when carrying their high heels.
3. Provided free rides home to drunken teenagers.
I stopped giving them money.

At least that's what the Cook says. Even the 'You'll be cut off" calls have stopped. I never give to charity callers at the door but do drop a few coins into the can when old blokes are outside the bottle shop or shopping centre collecting for various things.
