Our phone rarely rings at all actually. No one likes me so no one rings. At least that's what the Cook says. Even the 'You'll be cut off" calls have stopped. I never give to charity callers at the door but do drop a few coins into the can when old blokes are outside the bottle shop or shopping centre collecting for various things.
I dislike intensely many charities and the "not for profit" organisations who employ many fat backsides polishing seats and driving expensive cars out of the money collected.
I know a woman who manages charity shops manned by unpaid volunteers..... she wouldn't have a charitable bone in her body and wouldn't do it if she wasn't paid.

When the Salvation Army started supplying two people to work with police on Friday and Saturday nights in the CBD of Melbourne to hand out-

    1. Syringes to drug users.

    2. Bottles of water and thongs to drunken girls so they didn’t dehydrate or cut their feet when carrying their high heels.

    3. Provided free rides home to drunken teenagers.

    I stopped giving them money.

That sounds like a definition of a parasite! Maybe they should "promote" one of the volunteers to manager.

Plenty of parasites around wherever there's a soft job and plenty of other benefits to be had. Just as long as it doesn't require any actual work.....

As charities are exempt from employment awards, these jobs pay very little, if at all .
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.

A simple look at the salary paid to the upper levels of many charities would indicate otherwise.

I was referring to the plebs, managing Op Shops, not the upper parasites.

Ah the plebs. Yes, my MIL is one of them.
They do it all for nothing.

Another option is to put an answering machine on the line and then ignore it.
We don't have a home phone.
