How is this for a bit of arse? No not Selena Williams connected Mike. :o)

Just had my S in L call in to show me a cheque for $8000: 00 she won on the Pokies at a local Community Club.

ANZ Cheque looks genuine. The fact that I reckon it had cost her $15000 to win it didn't matter.

Just had to share my "Good News" Bastard! The fact that my B inL opened a bottle of Paracombe 2012 Cab Sav (sooooooooo Smooth) helped me get over it.

Back in 1992 when we were living on Norfolk Island, the local police sergeant knocked on our door. At first I thought "What has our son done now?!"

But he said I was wanted at the local community hall. I thought it was something to do with the sound system (I was working part time as a tech and announcer at the local radio station, 2NI, as well as working full time in charge of the local OTC submarine cable comms station).

So I rocked up, toolbox in hand, in Stubbies, T-shirt, and thongs to be confronted by a crowd. It was the draw for the Lions Club raffle and we'd won $9,000.

Had I been there for the draw, we would have collected another $1,500.

Naturally, my dress sense was caught on camera for the local paper.

Of course, it was a bit scratched, it had been my toolbox in Ceduna in 1969-70 and Carnarvon 1970-71

    Same sort of thing:
A friend of mine went into a shop to buy 1L of Mobil 1, couldn't buy 1L, and was rather annoyed that He had to buy 5L,...anyway the attendant asks does He want to enter "the competition",...my friend doesn't take much notice and says "OK no worries" or something like that, & then forgets about it. A few months later He gets a phone call, & the voice says, "You've won third prize",...He then has to be reminded what competition this is, expecting to win some car cleaning stuff, a fuel voucher etc etc, so He says "Well what's third prize"?....and the voice on the other end of the phone says "An HSV Maloo Ute"..LSA supercharged engine etc etc, worth around $100K!

In-laws were at the Boat Show in Melbourne many moons ago - were asked if they wanted to buy a raffle ticket for the boat - they begrudgingly bought 1 ticket for $1. They got a phone call the following week - they’d won first prize - the boat - a Whittly Cruisemaster and years morning - $120K worth. They kept it for a few years but ended up selling it and bought a smaller boat, new car and renovated the kitchen.
If you need to contact me please email homestarrunnerau@gmail.com - thanks - Gav.

My dear wife was on a Mediterranean cruise last year and partook in a game or two of bingo.
She ended up winning a 7 day Caribbean cruise.

I wonder what the 1st Prize was? Fort Knox?

Nice to know others have had such genuine luck. One wonders who gets these prizes,
or whether they are a bit of a scam & you never hear?

An expensive car goes on display here from time to time at a Shopping Mall as a prize for a draw & me being me wonders whether the Manager's Bro, Sis, Mum, Dad,son, daughter, next doors etc is the "lucky" winner as one never sees a list up.

I guess the Lotteries Commission would know as these things usually need a licence, but if I didn't win then I can't be arsed.

JerryD's a tinny beggar, never enter the same competition as him.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
