Nice to know others have had such genuine luck. One wonders who gets these prizes,
or whether they are a bit of a scam & you never hear?

An expensive car goes on display here from time to time at a Shopping Mall as a prize for a draw & me being me wonders whether the Manager's Bro, Sis, Mum, Dad,son, daughter, next doors etc is the "lucky" winner as one never sees a list up.

I guess the Lotteries Commission would know as these things usually need a licence, but if I didn't win then I can't be arsed.
They say "Google is your friend" so I googled it.
Ist prize was an HSV GTS, 2nd prize was an HSV Clubsport, it was a Mobil/HSV promotion.

I once worked with a guy like that. If I knew Col had a ticket even in a meat tray or chook raffle I wouldn't buy one.

Anyone remember that current affairs TV story, about the guy who won a ma$$ive 'scratchy' prize at his local newsagent ?
    - TV mob had him do a repeat for the cameras...and you guessed it, the one he bought won a huge $$$ as well. Poor bloke went white and nearly carked it !

I was discussing this only a couple of days ago. Wasn't it on Queensland's Sunshine Coast?

Sounds like he would have enough to buy a few more pairs of White Shoes.

You do meet people like that. I have a couple of friends who are tinny. One seems to wins every meat tray or raffle he buys a ticket in and the other can't help making big money on anything he buys and then resells. Me, I couldn't win a prize in a giveaway. For 20 odd years the wife and I bought books of tickets in every Mater prize home raffle. Never won a thing, not even a minor prize, then one day we met a couple who told us they were on holidays on the Gold Coast and begrudingly bought 1 ticket in the Mater draw from a streetseller after he hassled them to buy it and guess what - first prize. So that was it for me - no more Mater tickets. We used to buy lotto tickets religiously and one day I got a phone call at work from the wife - we won division 2 in the lotto. I was just about to give the boss notice and then she told me it was only $800. What a letdown - it seems nearly everyone got div 2 in that draw. That's my luck.

Brian, I reckon Helen and I were in that particular Div. 2 draw. It would have been late 90's, from memory. Our then local newsagent became a bit excited when we got him to check our entry and he realised we'd won Div. 2 but when he checked the amount for us we all deflated somewhat.

$800! I'd be over the moon. For years I "invested" $35 a week on the same numbers in lotto, best I ever jagged was fifty bucks.
