    We used to call them "gings". I bought one a few years ago at a 4wd field day, I thought it was illegal but take your pic of them on eBay.

    Negative on that Orrificer, they are an offensive weapon these days.
    This is a bait caster, used for beach fishing.

    Now we have Bait Launchers and Bait Cannons to play with Drone flying in National Parks & Parks Vic zones.

    I'm surprised no-one has thought of boomerang practise. Ages ago we inadvertently cleared everyone off a remote beach while practising boomerang throwing. After all, they were designed to bring down small flocking birds.
