Mine was a nickname given to me by a friend when my collection of landies (both goers and wrecks) got perilously close to double figures.
I've only got these three now, plus two wrecks/storage vehicles.

My little Bird cant get her mouth around Robert very well, so she calls
    me Bod ( Bob ).

When she is mad at me or if I dont move quick enough for her liking,
she taunts me with Olbod, Olbod, Olbod !
When I have been good, she calls me Mate.

AH! Army days. I remember 2 guys with difficult names in basic training. So the sarg. would call one "shoelace" and the other "wheel barrow" and if they didn't respond at roll call he would say "C'mon you know who you are".

Mine comes from the time when I was living in Switzerland and I was rather depressed at the time. There was a English radio series called "Round The Horn" and in that there was a character called Gruntfuttock who was living in "peasmouldya" this was how I felt at the time living in a small green country that was rotten and distasteful. Also it was a name that does conjours up different things to different people. But in reality it means nothing but it does get people talking!!!!
Hands up all those who remember "Round the Horn". In fact I have some CD's that have the Goons, Round the Horn and a lot of English humour They keep me sane in the face of all that Yank drivel they call humour
