Yes, there are a few cases of unknown origin but as long as the contact tracers can keep up with identifying their contacts and keeping them from transmitting further then we will stop the outbreak. As long as this is the situation a lockdown would only inflict unnecessary cost and loss of income for nothing other than making the baying media happy. If the contact tracers cannot keep up with isolating cases of unknown origin then a lockdown is a useful circuit breaker to let them catch up and the cost is worth the gains.

I wish I was as confident as you that this will not surge to regional NSW. The only time we can be confident of controlling this is when the majority are vaccinated. As for lockdowns, I've heard the mantra , we've been told about doom & gloom with the economy on one hand, then we are told the National economy is stronger now than before covid, we keep being told the NSW economy is the strongest , etc etc ad nauseum. If NSW had had a short lock down, your Parliament would not be in the position it is now. And chances are the school holidays would not be ruined for many, and this problem could be sorted quickly. As it is, it seems to many NSW is just trying to prove a point, at a great risk to regional NSW, and the country. I hope it works for them, because the stakes are high. Too high to justify an ego trip, in my mind.Quote:
