Just a question of 'Back to Basics' for the Cognescenti....

How many cycles does each State run on their PCR ?

VERY secretive over here in WA. We have a family member who works near the summit... yet all I can extract from them is "We're very thorough here, will run a second test if we have any doubts" --- NOT what I was asking.

    - Just the Ct, 23? 27? 40? 45? or Till it lights up ???

The good, the bad and the Sydney Covid outbreak. This just about covers all bases. If you can read it thru, It is so true. Good Jon, and Bad Jon. Says it all really. EDIT. It had to be said.

I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Ironically, that's the same stock photo the Age used for their Chip Le Grand article saying what a great job NSW was doing and how it proved you could stop Covid without going into lockdown. Egg on face etc.

Shows how much can change in 3 days ....

The worst of the outbreak is to come. Gladys has learned you are damned if you do, damned if you don't. A pity. I think she is basically fair dinkum.

Sydney lockdown is a humbling moment for NSW and Berejiklian's brand (msn.com)

The Romans had a ceremony called Triumphus, [ triumph] a ritual procession which was the highest honour bestowed upon a victorious Roman General , who killed the enemy and won the war. It was a solemn procession from the Triumphal Gate to the Temple of Jupiter. passing thru the Forum and the Sacred Way. A slave held a golden crown over the Generals head, and reminded him he was only a mortal man, whispering in his ear. A timely reminder that our politicians should not put themselves on a pedestal, and declare victory, when the enemy is not dead, or the battle won. Or they may get knocked off that pedestal . A lot can indeed change quickly, and all of our leaders need that slave whispering in their ear.

Finally, the NZ govt has called a pause on the travel bubble between NZ and Aust. All states. Too many dud decisions and too much ensuing risk. Paused for three days.

Two Aust travelers were caught at the NZ border today having traveled from Sydney through another state to NZ. One admitted mid-trip he shouldn't have been there and contacted NZ authorities and one was caught at our border by customs trying to get through with wrong declarations. Both now spend two weeks in Managed Isolation at their cost.

On the Wellington front. 2200 contacts have been IDed from the Aust traveler and 1440 tested negative so far. Our luck is holding so far but we are not through the danger zone yet. No community cases and no fragments of C-19 in the sewage testing in Wellington region from Wednesday. I hope people are watching our other regions as many people traveled to and from Wellington from other parts.

windsock, it might be worth asking how many months of medical oxygen supply in NZ compared to what is supposed to be there....
Also how many suitable ventilators has NZ got and have they trained up any more specialist technicians since last year that can operatecthem.... have they increased the ventolator stock by a large factor in case delta variant gets established as promised last year..Also..ppe mask stocks to protect against aerosol transmission of covid, you might be suprised at the lack of truthful answers....the planning is crap and they need to spend the money....

Their lack of action really is bizarre.
