A similar solution , line all the workers up, but have a mole in the rear rank. Get the sternest looking Matron to scream barely intelligible orders like, " right you miserable lot, all those wanting a jab today, one step forward!!!" At this the mole takes one step backwards. Then have all the Matrons and the biggest and ugliest senior nurses [ looking at you Des] scream at the by now disoriented workers things like " one line ,now!!!" Face your front , what are you looking at Maggot!!!" " keep moving!!! keep moving!!!" Keep them confused & disoriented, by the time they get the jab, they will be wondering what on earth just happened. Who said I learned nothing in 21 years in the service. Simples, Mr Bee.

Well .... the issue for my wife - who went OS to see her critically ill mother who's been in a coma for the last 5 weeks - is that they gave zero notice of the change in policy, which is coming into effect the day before she's due to fly back.

She's currently doing two weeks in quarantine in Tokyo, will be released in time to spend a few hours with her mother in the ICU and will then will fly back here to do another two weeks hotel quarantine.

She's working remotely by arrangement with her employer.

She's not trying to beat anyone's border policy, she's not on holiday and she's had her first AZ shot.

Oh, and BTW, the whole point of 14 days hotel quarantine is to detect if any arrivees have covid.

I hope your wife gets back ok, and any one else in a similar situation. I hope Australians haven't hardened their hearts to the extent we treat our own returning citizens as bad as we treat refugees.

It will be the day after 'tomorrow' in a few hours, I have my second jab booked for 14th and chomping at the bit to get it done. So I have an interest in your issue not just for your health but an answer of some sort for anyone else who may get 'cold legs' sensation.

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that - they simply told her airline they had to halve their flights, and, as it turns out, the flight they cancelled is the one she was booked on.

As of tonight she's trying to find another flight and will look at flying into a different city - as she said, so long as I can get back to Australia.


FYI, these planes are 350 seaters and they're running them to and from Australia with less than 20 passengers on board - and the fares are normal, not the tens of thousands that are being reported in the press. They would be losing about a million dollars per flight in lost fares and expenses - I used to work for an airline and I know that even having one sitting on the runway cost hundreds of thousands per week, fly it somewhere and you can add fuel and staffing costs to that.

Perth said they were briefed that only 2 suspected cases of clotting and investigating one death..... so a difference in figures so wonder what the explantion is?
