It seems that NSW may be being impacted by the same malaise that Melbourne endured during its big lockdown with some sections of the community not playing the ball and staying home. I don't subscribe to the "should have locked down earlier" theory because of the way that the case levels have remained constant over the last couple of weeks with most cases being directly traceable.
I never did see any analysis on the Melbourne issues, whether it was insufficiently draconian lockdown measures or a demographic specific issue that led to some areas having difficulty stopping creeping transmission. Maybe there will be some tougher restrictions in specific local government areas to control the spread?
