Yes we were told to treat people eg businesses being regulated for food safety as customers or clients by the incompetent greasy pole climbing managers in councils and the PS. What rubbish!!

Clamping down a bit more tonight. Can tell the PM is frustrated. Some people just don't get the idea so it has to be spelled out with a law (and penalties potentially) attached. Eventually those people will get with the plan. The plan that is bigger then themselves. Bigger than the individual to protect the population at large. It's only temporary 6 to 12 months. Just has to be done.

    Cheers

I wouldn't think anyone is planning any extended travel right now (except maybe Eevo) but I'll put this up anyway....

    Flightradar statistics

I tried to post the actual graph but it didn't work.

The link to the graphic is here. Quite a dramatic drop of global flights. Several annual plots preceding this year shows an increasing global economy I guess expressed in flight numbers. Will be interesting to see it in a few months time.

What goes up.. The rule seems good

China Wuhan is over the peak and well down the other side. Italy as well. We have yet to get close to the down hill side -

New York is heading for the Peak and its not pretty

The rate of new infections, Cuomo said, is doubling about every three days. While officials once projected the peak in New York would come in early May, they now say it could come in two to three weeks."We are not slowing it. And it is accelerating on its own," he said during a briefing. "One of the forecasters said to me we were looking at a freight train coming across the country. We're now looking at a bullet train."

    Keep safe all

    Summary

    • Italy has just reported a jump of 743 deaths in the past day - 141 more than Monday
    • While the number of deaths has risen, the number of new infections appears to be slowing down

Could be. Hard to see on the graph I have been watching unless you go to the histogram data. The latest change looks like simply another of the many slight changes in the long exponential rise. A few days/weeks before we can say with any certainty that the peak was there on such and such a day...

Yes, I was frustrated to read that a has been cricketer took to twitter to criticise the medical direction that the government has been following this morning. People seem to be unable to figure out that they are trying to form a balance between stopping all economic activity and stopping virus spread. As an example, limiting funerals to 10 people is necessary because social distancing will be extremely difficult to maintain in such an emotional setting. 10 people doing a bootcamp class in a park, not so much. Schools is a hot potato but I'm sure that the police do not want to spend their time arresting bunches of teenagers wandering around malls whicjh is a far less desirable alternative to having them at least supervised in schools.
