There'd be no issues for me to work from anywhere there's a good internet connection and I'd suspect that a lot of other people came to the same conclusion and decided to take off. Could these people have C19? Yes, but given the socio-economic profile of the current outbreak it's unlikely that they'd have holiday homes.
Yes - there is a decent handful of holiday homes here. We are too far for Melbourne daytrippers because it's a four hour drive but having said that I did chat to one couple when we were at Stage 2 and they had driven here from Melbourne just to have a picnic lunch before returning home that afternoon.

I understand what you are saying re virus vectors and socio economic profiles but it only takes one carrier to wreck the place and that carrier could well be one of their kids. I just don't trust people and this is why. The local community is heavily skewed to being senior citizen dominant so the contagion risk factor and its terminal result is increased exponentially.

I read where there is a new Virus in China already.
The ADF is a 24/7 organisation. It's not called shift work, but they don't park ships up for the night, and start again in the morning. And I'm sure the Army just don't fight during the day. The Air Force? You may be on to something there. As for the next time, how about an Avian influenza outbreak in Victoria, now. Not dangerous to us right now, but can any one tell us how COVID 19 started , for sure?

I guess it comes from a wasted lifetime of watching Eastenders but no more, it's imho, rubbish these days I'm now more your Emmerdale type. RE sense of humour. I see humour where other people don't appear to if I may be so bold, even at Funerals etc. It is not disrespect, just observing people & listening to their speech & watching their actions.

The Playwright Irwin Shaw made a practice of that especially in Post War Paris for a wonderful book called "PARIS, PARIS".

Re Shop. Thank goodness the Gunlayer was on the ball. Or was he off the ball, or ****ed?

I thought that was what I said Bob. I haven't yet caught up with the name of the current Chinese one but it could well be Avian

I need a translator. The older I get, the more confused it seems.

Monty Python made a fortune out of doing just that. And the wonderful Goons, from the goon show. May as well totally hijack the thread....
