Yes, I think Dr Chant said last week that most results are delivered between 24 - 48 Hrs after the test is done. She also said that the system has the capacity to process 90K tests per day. The current 7 day testing average is sitting at about 92K with 102K record a couple of days ago. Hopefully they can keep up ... it would be ideal if they could get the test result delivery down under 24 hrs.

Still, I think it's pretty impressive that they can handle this volume.

Yesterday; I was working with a couple of blokes who come from the Georges River LGA. They have to be tested every three days. They've worked out that if you jump in the queue early in the day, you get your results later then the ones who join it later.. Makes sense, as the lab isn't going to dig into the bottom of a box of tests. They're going to start at the top. Hare and Tortoise scenario.

I read some tests are being sent to interstate labs to keep up with demand.

Damn and blast! For the second time I've been forced to cancel an SES reunion, due to a snap lockdown.
Next time, I'll organise a snap reunion.
It's really a minor inconvenience, to keep the community safe. (There's some sort of irony in there.)

I have four Woolies within a tenish kay or so radius, so no need to panic buy. Cosco have family economy (American gutses) sized Co Co Pops too. [biggrin]

Every time you listen to the news o Sydney break out they mention migrant groups and having to work with community leaders. Well something is wrong?.
is it members have close community contact but don't they talk to one another, if the group were say for example muslims, don't the muftis tell people at mosques, don't the attendees then tell their family? some thing is wrong. Other groups have communication with community leaders, why aren't they getting the message. People seem to get by knowing what services are avail to them , that gets spread so why cant this message get across. surely when they get infected and are sick don't they tell each other?
I hear and accept they come here from countries that don't trust the governments, I can accept they my be traumatised, but I cant accept they lock them selves away and don't know what is going on in the world.

If the message is not getting out fix it, if it's a case of defiance then I don't know.
just a worrying observation.

further more the the groups protesting are brain dead! so they must have that as an excuse.

In a city of 5 million it wouldn't take too many families to give you 200 more infections/day.
It appears families are hiding positive cases away, fearing losing breadwinners, etc.
