It's been reported Sydney hospitals are under stress. Can they spread the load , or is it possible to move patients interstate?

this crisis has shown the weakness of our federation and how we need to move forward and remove state based decision making.

If you think that a constitutional change to make this possible has the slightest chance of being approved, I have a bridge to sell you!

    • The woman was not in a ward with other know COVID patients
    • COVID was unknowingly brought into the hospital by a nurse
    • The woman caught COVID from a nurse who was working across two wards neither of which were COVID wards
Yes you are totally correct - that is what is now being reported but early this morning it was as I indicated - just goes to show how stories can change in a short period of time.

The entire east side of the continent was once NSW.

    From Wikipedia.

The Colony of New South Wales was founded as a British penal colony in 1788. It originally comprised more than half of the Australian mainland with its western boundary set at 129th meridian east in 1825. The colony then also included the island territories of Van Diemen's Land, Lord Howe Island, and Norfolk Island.

The 129th meridian is approx the WA border with SA and NT.

So we are almost all New South Welshmen.

It's amazing how much NSW has shrunk, as it's now only 270km from Newcastle to Wollongong.
