This is one of the very few times I've considered putting someone in to MODS. I had put him on my ignore list, and made it known, but he continued to PM me, that was fine, I could just ignore him. I didn't need to know what he was posting, however a member quoted him in a return post, to show his disgust, and that was when I saw what he had posted. This same member posted earlier on that older members were going to die with the virus, and that was removed. I thought that was the end of it. But he came back, and continued on . Anyway, all over now. Hopefully we can get the thread back, and continue on, suitably chastened.
[QUOTE=trout1105;2985043]I understand the need for social distancing and making unnecessary trips to town But I am wondering if it is still allowable/OK to launch a boat and go fishing??
How do I find out if I am still able to go fishing as many of our beach fishing spots are practically deserted most of the time and I don't have to go through any towns to get there.[/QUOT
If you are not in self isolation and the state is not self lockdown then Maybe fishing can be as necessary as going to the supermarket if the end result is for food whilst practicing social distancing . [thumbsupbig] .
Great question mate. Technically you could attach your boat and take yourself off fishing. You could pay by card at the bowser when filling at the servo.
If you needed rescuing from the water social distancing goes out the window...but that is a very unlikely scenario.
Having said that I would feel I was not.acting with the spirit of the Govt's approach if I hooked up the boat and took off. It's also like giving the middle digit to people who are heeding the Govt's messages to say home. M2CW.
But mental health is also vitally important. If your mental health is suffering and the only way a person has to relieve that is in the water then I reckon they should go (And just take all steps to reduce risk).

Maybe a call to the police to see if it is OK would be the answer?
Instead of launching the boat and have a Tiny chance of needing rescue I could simply do some beach fishing?
Trout this is QLD advice from Fisheries. May differ state to state.

Hi,
A few days ago the mountain bike folk were advising to avoid trails that were difficult and stick to the easy ones to mitigate the chances of injury and needing a rescue and scarce medical rescouces.
That may old news now though.
