Already list of countrys that when
you arrive from you may get a 14 day quaratine so might not be good for tourism especially when you need to register your visa at a government office unless your hotel does it for you.links here in Russian ,open in chrome and you can right click to translate to english.

There is now a list of countries that if you return to Russia from you will be required to self-quarantine at home for two weeks. It includes: China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Norway and the United states
I really appreciate this information but, I'm still going if allowed. I'm not going to let hype, hysteria and utter bull**** prevent me from doing what I want to do. Selfish? Perhaps, but I flew to Europe in 2000 when everything was doomed from the Y2K.
Self quarantine at home for two weeks wouldn't worry me as I'm a bit of an hermit.
Perhaps we could catch up whilst in Russia? For a coffee, not a Coughee.

so might not be good for tourism

Not just Tourism will be affected but all facets of our day to day lives will be. Things we take for granted etc. Unfinished jobs because we can't get the bits. I'm afraid the world has put all it's eggs in one basket & we now rely on China for stuff that used to made in this country. Having said that I saw some footage that in the UK, firms are in effect going back to square one & actually making more stuff themselves.

Maybe they will never revert back to Chinese stuff if/when this is all over & maybe is the kick up the bum that the UK needed.

I agree ,you will see as situation develops,Russian government can act fairly firmly if it wants and would have no problem in imposing a quarantine on foreign visitors to protect itself with the caveat of follow the money,ie who will suffer from lack of tourism, moscow contributes a awful lot of russias GDP .I probaby in theory would avoid the trans siberian 7 day trip.but vodka will be a good disinfecant!uzbekistan talking of imposing quarantine as well. Time will tell hope you get to come and enjoy.

I'll wager most of us have absolutely NO idea, so 'now' would be a great excuse to visit the numbers. Maybe re-train the kids !

At least we'd have solid evidence of what we'd need if our family is locked down for a month.

While Big Business feverishly to invent/test/ & produce a vaccine, (at least 12 months away) we'd be better off looking at maximising our immune system and trialling Treatment(s) for the estimated 20% who will need it.

Or preventative measures. - Anyone washing their hands more than they used to ?

    Or stock-pilling Vitamin C ?

Nope. I entered this thread saying i hope it does not come to the Valley here. Sorry but your wrong apples.

The only time i have used that word is when quoting others (likely you!).

Not a word i like to ever use actually. Its a petty insult often spewed out by those lacking intelligence to have a real opinion.

On a lighter note we had a CORONA PARTY last night.
Had a great time with friends, tunes up loud, few drinks and a cracking barby.

I think what John is referring to is 30% of permanent/full time employee don’t have leave....it certainly appeared this way for wages staff at plants I visited.

Than add casuals onto this figure.

If your part time in AUS you get sick leave.

My doctors phone message for tomorrow might be of interest for Victorians .

If you have returned from overseas and are you experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms then please stay home. Do not go to work. You should self-isolate until you get medical advice about whether you potentially have over COVID-19. Please do not come into our medical centre unless told to by our doctors.
Call the Victorian coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398, Specialist COVID-19 clinics opened at Royal Melbourne Hospital, the Alfred, the Austin, and Box Hill opened on Saturday 7th of March. Call 1800 675 398 or ask our Doctors to call you at home to discuss.

The Vic health minster peeved GPs when the silly sod named and shamed a Doc for having asthma, allergies or very mild cold or flu symptoms just before he was found to have COVID-19. He had not been in any location on the hits list. Doctors and medical staff are in the front line with some scared to panicking types coming in to us daily after just returning from high risk areas. Victorian health minister jenny mikakos has not made co-operation any easier by her stupid response on the 70 year old Doctor. We have 1000s of people needing urngent or very important medical care. If GPs stop going to work to avoid being exposed to COVID-19 more people will die or be at extreme risk than they are from COVID-19! I am not paranoid happily. Still much more likely to be killed by some idiot on a pedestrian crossing once I can walk again

    Anyway back to my soup.
    Your plan is flawed.

It requires you to be constantly on the alert for impending shortages.

It requires you to be able to instantly respond to the threat of of a shortage.

It means that when you respond you may be creating problem for people who because of personal circumstances such as geographical location, health issues or mechanical problems, are unable to respond as quickly as you.

Surely a more sensible, less stressful, less selfish plan is to have a sensible reserve at all times of a few basic items like your favourite soup and preferred brand of toilet paper.

That way when there is news of an outbreak of panic buying of kitty litter or Iced VoVos, you can just sit at home, confident in the thought that you are several steps ahead of the mob.

That doesn't mean turning yourself into a Doomsday Prepper.

Shortages can occur for a variety of reasons. As some people on the South Coast discovered recently when bushfires closed major highways, in some cases for weeks.

It is possible to make sensible preparations so that you don't look as if you are preparing for the Zombie Apocalypse while at the same time avoiding the risk of being assaulted by someone who thinks they need that last packet of Tim Tams more than you do.

You need a better plan than the one you have now.

    Weeeeeeellllllllll hellooooooooo.

Just been announced that air conditioners are thought to be transmitting this virus thingy. Well, **** me! badly maintained & uncleaned & un-sanitised Return Air Filters would be one of the first things on my list to pay attention to & was, (filters were cleaned & then sprayed with a Sanitising Spray & then left out in the sun all day.) not to mention crap filled supply (& return air Ducts).

Oh yes, the Mazda Cabin Air Filter got the same treatment & will regularly, while this is ongoing. Ducts? As we clean the RA Filters regularly, we will have to take our chances with the Ducts as there is no way I am climbing into a 25cm duct with the right gear to clean those but they will get bursts of spray when the system is operating..

I reckon this is how it was transmitted to those cooped up on board cruise ships although no-one has mentioned that obvious fact... If it was cold air & I suspect it would have been, then it stands to reason from what I have read so far. Heated air may kill it but would also depend on the temp of the Supply air it seems, circa 27c. Supermarket & Building Central Air conditioning?

Covid-19 directly delivered to your personal Suite.

    You betcha.
