We have had four 'break-outs' where those who are being held in isolation have absconded.

• The latest smashed a window in her unit (a 60+ woman) and knocked on three neigbours doors at midnight. The first door no answer, the second door called 111 and the third door talked to her before she returned and was placed under guard. It sounds like mental health care was offered.

Govt is now thinking electronic ankle bracelets for monitoring location and movement. Public is not overly pleased but realise these are hotels not prisons and returning citizens/residents not crims. One psychologist suggested placing them into hotels based in or around CBDs where they could look out and see and hear NZ operating at Level 1 (near normal) was too much for some. I can understand that. She suggested more remote rural locations might be better but no facilities out there. Chook houses, milking sheds, hay barns and pig-pens for all... ? We placed a three week moratorium on returnees last week. All those with bookings can return but no new bookings allowed so airlines had to cancel trips to NZ. The govt were simply running out of suitable places to house all the kiwis returning.

Hi Windy, I wish they would allow travel to NZ as I do miss the big AIR NZ Airbuses low overflying (Climbing out) my gaff every Thursday about 11 am. A beautiful sight & sound. Big engines & oh sooooo slow.[bigrolf] I think Air Bus, it's bit high for me to read the logos.

See what you can do for me please? There's a good Chap.

BTW. I hope he wasn't able to take his speshul beer & pinot along with him. I hope it cost him a motza.

All the big systems I look after only introduce fresh air when a pre-determined CO threshold is reached, (usually 900ppm, but I can adjust that on the BMS) so until that point it's 100% recycled air.

Death toll rises to 108 as Australians told to learn to live with virus

The relentless torrent of bad news in Victoria has added an extra urgency to the University of Queensland vaccine, which is now ready to be tested on humans.
The human testing of the “molecular clamp” vaccine candidate, to start on Monday, follows encouraging results from animal testing trials conducted in the Netherlands, the Sunday Mail in Brisbane reports.
Professor Robert Booy, head of Clinical Research at the National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance, said the animal trials would have “ticked all the boxes”, allowing the human testing to go ahead.
“There is no way the research team would be able to progress from animals to humans without a complete guarantee of safety and they would likely have a confidence in its effectiveness,”

There are are around 200 vaccines being fast-tracked around the world, but UQ’s work is believed to have shown great success in the pre-clinical stage of development.
“We invested millions into this research because we know a vaccine is crucial to defeating COVID-19,” Queensland Innovation Minister Kate Jones told the Sunday Mail.

Heard a NSW medical officer saying the Crossroads Hotel at Casula on the Hume is popular with freight drivers, so now they're trying to track 600+ people, who could be anywhere.

Yep. My bad.
Our CO trip points in the carparks are 5ppm. I tested 9 Carpark sensors last week.

So we arrived at the border of Qld/NSW last night,heading north,M1, around 8.30pm.

Exactly 1 hour,20 minutes later we got through.

All they did is see the 'G' pass on the windscreen,then waved us on.

The issue is reducing two lanes to one,causing congestion.The line up of vehicles was 3.6Km long,going off google maps.

It would be pretty simple to have the two lanes going through,one officer for each lane,but i suppose,that would be to difficult for them to organise[bighmmm]

Cost cutting measures no doubt.They would rather inconvenience everyone.

Might have been quicker to go through Tweed,and Coolangatta,but who knows.

Quite a few ducted systems we run across have the fresh air shut off as the systems are undersized[bigsad]

Most of the older large systems have a fixed fresh air quantity,with the addition of full or modulated fresh air quantity, depending on outside air temperature,space temp, and cooling call %.Some also have a purge system,that will start the AHU's early in the morning,before the building is occupied,usually around 4.00am,for 30 minutes,to purge all the stale and hot air out of the space,using full fresh air and on some sites, utilising smoke exhaust/spill air fans as well.This cycle is also dependant on space temperature at the time.

Using actual CO2 readings is better,as long as its all working OK.

Time to think about masks.
