Good on them. I suspect the "new" "catsarsetrophe" is just around the corner anyway IMHO & we will always need to be 110% prepared at all times & keep up with what is happening around the globe & react pretty bloody quickly..
We have a multi billion new hospital, recently opened, but isn't a lot of good if there aren't enough beds & there may not be. Two Helipads notwithstanding. (why 2 ?) Don't know. One is certainly marked out as the EMS pad but the other who knows? Rich pollies??
Australia does not have a CDC like the US of A or most of the other countries.

I think about two years ago we had a agency similar to CDC but later abolished...
And this explains the discrepancies of covid 19 strategies between states. And frankly, quite third-world
Am I the only one who believes this may be the kick in the arse that makes them rethink that idea. Just like the Bushfires rethink they had to have.

I find it frustrating to hear whoever the spokesperson of the moment is get up and say it'll be alright, we are prepared. And then not give a detailed description on what those preparations are. OK , early in the piece having too much info could frighten the horses, but not giving some idea of what they have done to prepare leaves one to think that the powers to be don't have much of an idea what to do, besides wait and see. That creates doubt , and speculation, a breeding ground for all types of wacky theories on social media, and some mainstream media. I do think leadership has been lacking, especially early in the piece.Quote:
