Casual workers are more the focus here. Where my son works, the majority of the workforce is casual. They have been told the business will have to lay people off, for a month, or more. They don't have sick leave, long service, or any other safety net to back them up. Some of these workers have stated they will become homeless , without an income. Newstart doesn't cut it. These people live week to week, especially those with families. Tonight the PM has stated there will be changes to the tenancy laws [ for the duration of the crisis] to stop landlords throwing tenants out who can't pay the rent. That's a start. As for those on newstart now, we can't make a judgement about who deserves what, or not. That's out of my pay group, and I'm not going to start judging now.

Bit of a worry being stranded, Tassie is Isolated and they stick together down there. You being a main lander/ foreigner will be one of the first to be eaten when food runs out and cannibalism starts. LOL

This is not a smart arse question my friend, but an honest one.
In terms of your words "once this is all over", when in terms of months or years, or whatever,....when do you think that will be.
I am only asking a genuine question, if not for anybody else, but for myself,....because at the moment, with increasing numbers everywhere, I just don't know.
Others can chime in if they like, with their thoughts, if they have any.

To be absolutely honest, I cannot understand your post, I believe all of the "Team" who are trying to look after Aussie are doing the best they can, & I admire them, ALL of them, & their medical advisers.

NB: If your post was a joke, then I apologize, because you got me sucked in well & truly.

I reckon that there will be a large disruption across many sectors and lots of stuff won't be the same.
Online shopping will kill off the weakest of the retail outlets, many of whom were already struggling.
I reckon that a lot of cruise lines may be struggling.
Similarly any hotel/motels that might have been struggling will find it pretty tough.
Organisations that deal with entertainment such as concert promoters and football codes may have to go back to first base to reestablish audiences and finance for events

With the support and stimulus businesses my carry on for a few months afterwards and then succomb.

My son, who is on holidays at home at the moment, got a call from work today - he may have to cut his holidays short and go back to work, partly because they are very short staffed due to the ACT schools closing, so that half their staff can't come to work, and partly because they are intending to move as many of their staff as possible to work at home, and he is needed to train them how to do that.
