Sorry, this is already a few pages past your question but without having an answer:

25, 000 ExPats have had at least six months leeway. If they had wanted to come back to aunty they would/should have by now.

RAAF can carry a butt load of humanoids, they can even carry more if the $fed$ agree to repurpose all the empty commercial carrier craft to do this. I guess that if you were aware that COVID is a thing and now it's September, maybe you should lie in the bed you made for yourself *shrug*

This story contains a table with coronavirus statistics on every country. It shows how well both Australia and NZ have done, and how poorly the USA has performed.

Alas e-scripts are possibly still on a chopping block at 30 Sept and not clarified as part of this. Its really mostly a fund shift with funding moving from you seeing your Doctor in her/his room to on the phone or video consultation. I am more than happy to pay for the eScripts myself, I cannot yet as the software is still needing an upgrade to allow me to pay for it.

I've got a specialist that can't even fill out a paper form correctly and then his receptionist refuses to answer questions on how to get it fixed, not sure how the technology will go across the board.

In my day we had a saying "a good traffic cop never gets wet"! And we tried to stick to that! But if there is something that needs to be done, in the rain, well we got wet! Eg...many city drivers prang into each other when it rains!

Years ago there was a cop stationed outside Govt House in their own dedicated cop shop built into the stonework of said dump. I understand they were responsible for the gate as well as the North Tce & King William Road intersection just outside their door.

I remember one cop there, permanently I guess, he was an ex-serviceman, a Police Sergeant & a big bastard & I'd see him out in all weathers sorting out minor Traffic snarls when the Lights failed . He was always pleasant & became a well known City identity & made the newspapers from time to time. He was issued with loose fitting rain wear & you could barely see his boots with this black cape on. He always had a friendly Smile but gawd help you if you took the ****.
No Hi-viz in those days & (it was some years before they even had peaked Cap white covers.) cops regularly were stationed at City intersections just to monitor & sort out problems. If you wanted a cop in an emergency one knew where to find one, albeit probably on the other side of the main road.

When they went on Duty & took station at the intersections they'd march smartly in formation along King Wiliam St from the Watch-house & each one would drop off at their nominated intersection, each with a neatly folded Rain coat over their arm. I bet they don't do that today but just rock up & get dropped off from a Patrol car even if they actually attend intersections. Especially if it is raining.

SA Police (SAPOL today) were really respected by the general Public unless you were a wrong'un & got your collar felt.

The Mounted Cadre ( who rode Greys) were well known & always smartly turned out when in Public (white Colonial pith helmets, White lanyards every which way & Swords) & a delight to see when they passed by despite the horses ****ting everywhere they went & the Band was quite famous & eventually were invited to perform at the Annual Edinburgh Tattoo a few years ago.

Right, now what was the question?

    Several months late....

Queensland to open border to ACT

Queensland will re-open its border to people from the ACT from 25 September, the health minister*Steven Miles*has just announced.
Queensland has announced no new cases today.
The conditions are that ACT residents must not have been in NSW for two weeks prior to entering Queensland, and will have to fly into the state, rather than drive

    Just lobbing this in....Corona Virus

On borders, the NSW premier,*Gladys Berejiklian,*has reached another stalemate with her Queensland counterpart,*Annastacia Palaszczuk.
Berejiklian told reporters this week that all conversations on borders with Palaszczuk had ceased, again. Could make national cabinet awkward.
    She said:

The door is completely shut as far as Queensland is concerned. [It’s] locked, bolted and no conversations are continuing, unfortunately.
At least the South Australian government is taking more of an evidence-based approach.

NSW has eased its restrictions with Victoria – people living in the border bubble can now cross the border to visit a restaurant, cafe or club. This has been interpreted by people living in Victorian bubble towns as meaning they no longer need a reason to travel into the bubble area of NSW. The NSW health minister,*Brad Hazzard, told reporters:

Life has returned to normal for the people in that bubble zone.
