Here is the full list of Covid hotspots in Sydney. It's a long list, which is why Sydney really is a hot-spot, despite what some may say.

Turns out Border Force actually allowed 55 Kiwis to travel from Sydney, which is the most active virus hotspot in the country, to Melbourne, which is closed to international travellers, without warning the Victorian Govt. Let's hope none of them were positive and are now spreading the virus in Melbourne.

Exactly, let's hope none of them picked it up in Sydney - quarantine-free flights arrivals are supposedly kept separate from quarantinable flights, but then again I was in Sydney in January and was actually watching people leave the cruise boats and wondering why there didn't seem to be any customs or immigration evident ...
It appears that most of the arrivees aren't in fact tourists but are intending to stay - and they're potentially infected and they're most likely hiding, given the trouble the State appears to be having tracking them down.

Apparently NZ has had 0 community transmission in the last 14 days and the 40 active cases in NZ are all under Managed Isolation or Quarantine.
Any suggestion that the arrivals from NZ could have brought COVID to Victoria is just ridiculous and fear mongering at its worse. Yes they could have picked up COVID on arrival in Sydney or even Melbourne, but so could anyone else coming into Melbourne from anywhere across Australia.
The arrivals from NZ would be in hiding because of the xenophobic attitude of people who should know better. And the Premier of Victoria is the chief antagonist behind this appalling behaviour.

Just on the news here. A "Thank You Day" ????? What government numptie/idiot thought that one up?
Just when Vics are wanting to get back to work too. A Public Holiday when any Cafes & Restaurants & other businesses wish to open will be hit with more Penalty rates etc.
One would have thought that is the last thing you/they need as if you all haven't been having a looooong enforced Holiday of late. Sure, have it in the New Year or when the economy is truly on the mend but to have it next Friday seems unnecessary & ridiculous at this time now.
Sounds like Dan is trying to smooth the waters in case he gets more Flak.
Goes off shaking head in bewilderment.
