Until Lang's compass went haywire, WA was consistently a net receiver of the eastern states charity.
Having various valuable commodities underground is not a skill, or reason to gloat and pat oneself on the back, it's pure tin arsedness.
Once it was decided to dig up these bits and bobs, you needed the eastern populace to either FIFO or reside at the coalface, to help you out.
When the other states were propping up the west, we didn't hear you bleating and constantly pointing out which way the dollars were flowing.
We're a Commonwealth, that, in simple terms means, one for all and all for one.
Next time you want to go on a bagging spree, I suggest you don't bag the people who propped you up, for over sixty years. In other words, look right down the back of your yard.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
I came over in 1968 to CRA to work on the Iron Ore Rail for Hammersly Iron at Dampier from NSW , Most of of the work force for the Rail anyway was from ( "should i say it" ) Victoria/ England , South Africa and India and FIFO was not yet invented , very few Corn-stalkers and i knew only 1 Western Australian on site , very few workers from WA would go up to the Pilbara or from Australia as a whole for that matter in the early days .
Had a few good Booze ups at Langs at his Mulga Downs Station . Tough days then , not as tough as the first pioneers in the northwest but a lot tougher than todays Populace .
WAs Riches first started in 1893 with the gold rush , a lot of the so-called support propping up WA was enticement from the Eastern States to join the Federation in 1901 .

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking
The nearest for me is a co worker back in early March that had a VERY bad flu that lasted 3 weeks and had respiratory symptoms, however because he had not returned from overseas he did not at that time meet the criteria for Covid testing. We'll probably never know the truth....
