I don't know how people are behaving in Perth or anywhere else in the State as far as social distancing goes because since the start of this pandemic I haven't been travelling anywhere because of the risk of infection.
I do know that in Geraldton social distancing IS being practiced by the vast majority of people and I have yet to enter a store in town that doesn't supply hand sanitiser for their customers.
Until we can ALL get immunised against COV19 nobody is safe and WA's most dangerous weakness at the moment for getting COV19 infections is from overseas and interstate arrivals.
In light of the new infections in NSW I think that opening up the WA border was somewhat premature and that we should have waited until the vaccine was made available to everyone Before we opened up the State and that ANYONE entering the state get vaccinated as a pre condition of entry.

Might be all good in Gero but this Virus just does not seem to exist in Perth to many people , social distancing & hand hygiene is about as rare as manors on our Roads . Followed one dude into woolies who just walked straight past the hand sanitiser and started to separate the bunches of bananas so he could cherry pick the good ones out of each bunch not bothered that he did not sanitise his hands on entry , they live in a vacuum & could not care about anyone one else .

That will take years, not only does it have to be manufactured,it also has to be available to the general population, thats millions of people.

The main issue seems to be international travellers, including airline staff working on international flights.

Yep.
This'll be the new normal, outbreaks thanks to it jumping quarantine, suppression/elimination and then another outbreak as people and aircrew return from OS.

I think we can trust the contact tracers, they've done an amazing job here so far.
I'm shaking my head at the WA Premier offering 'advice' to the NSW Premier on how to manage things. Talk about hubris. (I'm being polite )

That's the biggest back pedal I've seen in a long time.
WA's situation is more good luck than good judgment, with its remoteness being a definite advantage.
Every state and territory is in the same boat, regarding the risk coming from overseas.
Compulsory vaccination cannot be mandated nor added as a condition of entry.

WA has had hundreds of overseas arrivals every week for months now and yet unlike some of the other States there hasn't been Any outbreaks into the community so YES it is Good management and not just Luck.
So why can't vaccination be mandated as a requirement of entry? It makes absolute sense to me and not just in WA BUT EVERY OTHER state and Territory .

I agree with Qld Gov closing the border to Sydney but what I don't agree with is closing the border at a certain time on a date two / three days away, it should be immediately , don't give them time to escape. You just have to look at the photo's of the number of people @ Sydney Airport all packed in like cattle , & as for the airlines you can bet they have put on extra flights & increased the fairs to monopolize on this. As for people who are told to quarantine & don't , make them quarantine in in prison then they will have a reason to complain about the accommodation & food , give them a criminal history .
It has been hard at times but in most pretty good her in Qld with not too many restrictions & in general most people have done the rite thing , yes some have been out of work , business have suffered but it is all for the good of the people who live here & hopefully we will come out the other side with out too many more people dead.

That is just my spin on this , I know there are people who won't agree but for me & have there own views but the safety of family is most important & just to think about others before your self.
