"WEAK Positive ???" Teh little beasties either light up or they don't...but you'll never-ever know, without knowing the Cycle Threshold used.... and there is more chance of a politician refusing his Pension than letting the Great Unwashed ever discover Ct, - never mind the number !

But to throw a spanner in the works..... 20 amplifications and you can trust / worry about a "Positive", 35 and it's iffy.. 45 and you've beaten God at his own game, you HAVE made Something out of Nothing.
The (US) CDC have been suggesting '40 Ct'.

Does anyone here recall the hoopla back in the Old Country, when the Poms / NHS went into instant Hospitals ? - Called them 'Nightingales'. A few hundred million pounds, and meant to handle the hundreds of thousands of dead, dying and feeling poorly victims of this... UNN -PREC - ce-Dented Pandemic.

There was a tiny whisper about some of them having minor glitches like beds / wards with no plumbing, medical gasses, vacuum supply and the like... Small Inconveniences..as were the lack of ... kitchens.

Anyway, they've solved all that. Biggest One has vanished overnight.... Nightingale Hospitals pictured lying empty as UK hit by mutant Covid strain - Mirror Online

Any sensible person would hold off shutting down in light of this New, Improved, super-duper infective 'variant'... Makes one wonder.

Yes I do James 2, as it was in most media & I thought to myself "What a fantastic idea with all these people in one location for concentrated treatment" Alas that was in the early days & commercial ( read, cost cutting) decisions have obviously been made since.

As you say it "Makes one wonder?" Do you suspect dodgy dealings going on or NFI?

Any sensible person might but this is led by Bo-Jo the Buffoon.

They can party after they have returned from assisting Farmers Harvesting their produce. "Ah no mate, I want to have a good time, **** that working lark".

It could easily turn into a "I've got Covid-19 but I don't want to die Party." Stiff!

At the same time, these Bums are also consumers of produce that could be better supplied to other deserving folk, or they could ask those at "Home" to send Food Parcels to OZ as Oz did for the UK in times of distress.

    There's a novel idea M. Bee.

Every day more and more places go on to the Covid watch list. I know record numbers are being tested, and that's great. But isn't the gestation period for COVID up to 7 days ? Wouldn't it have been more sensible to call a full lockdown, for 14 days? Then test those with symptoms? I've just read an article that said all passengers on a flight from Griffith, to Sydney, should get tested. Griffith is out in the bush, Isn't it? If a passenger who was on the plane was infected, that means it's already out there. Just saying.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

GEEEEEEEZ, I'm deeply hurt, nay dismayed, that I have disappointed you with "Coffee Gender".

Would you like a speshul comment made just for you, Ian? But in the real world, if Rick really drinks as much coffee as he implies at his many, many Cafe Bars then it stands to reason at some point the colour will permeate to his skin. So Brindle & Coffee Gender could eventually be quite PC.

Not unless the Frothy stuff permeates first, then that would change the whole conversation as he becomes a "W"

Was this random wisdom another divine intervention?

What puzzles me bob is why anyone would catch a Plane to or from Griffith from Sydney? One could walk there & back in an arvo provided there was nice Tea Shoppe along the way.

Reminds me, & speaking of Griffith.... Some one calling themselves Robert Trimboli opened a small cafe at Balhannah here in the hills. It was very nice with black Ribbons forming Crosses hanging everywhere but for some reason has shut it's door, or maybe the cops put the door through during a visit? Lots of body outlines painted on the floor with peculiar pink stains in them.

Actually, it must be a co-incidence because by the time of our visit, Roberto or Bob as his friends called him, was 6' (183cm) under the ground. Or maybe his mates dropped a couple of bags of local Rice into the coffin & he scarpered quickly off to Sicily?

Felt a little uncomfortable sitting behind plate glass windows & remembering the days of Elliot Ness & his Tommy Gun raids & was ready to duck quickly. I'm sure it wasn't bulletproof glass.

Maybe the owner was a distant relly? Yeah, that'd be it.

NB. Parts of the above are true but which parts you'll have to judge for yourselves if you can be bothered.
