As any doctor will tell you, a rare side effect is fine until it is sitting in the chair opposite you. Then it has a 100% chance of occurance in that person.
Well, that makes me feel better.......

Do not despair shipmate. Well not yet anyway.

I saw an article in the Guardian this a.m. where your GP can do a test to see if you (& me) are susceptible to this.
Soz, didn't get the URL but it is there.

Well, I went to the jab place, and asked where we were at, because I had no information from them for 3 weeks, and the first question they asked was " do you attend this clinic to see a doctor" ? I immediately put on my CPO lecturing an OD look [ which on reflection couldn't be seen anyway, because of the mask], raised myself to my full height + a couple of inches [ which meant I could just see over the desk]and said in a calm considered voice " I sincerely hope I haven't been put at the bottom of the list because I don't attend this centre, especially after being referred here by my Dr. and being a veteran over 70 with medical issues. [ I'm learning to play the veteran card. ] " To which the reply was " wait, let me check the zippedy do da [ she mumbled] End result I received a phone call today, there is a cancellation tomorrow at 0955, and the lovely lass couldn't be helpful enough. When I asked if there had been any adverse results she said the only one was an elderly lady who was dizzy the next day. We both agreed that she was probably in her normal state dizzy, had a chuckle, and today I've spent ages on my phone filling out the pre jab form. I could have written a letter and hand delivered it quicker, but SWMBO wouldn't let me. I didn't know she had a cruel streak. So, I'm ready to join the Zombie apocalypse, come what may.

For an Ex-CPO you are a slow learner shipmate. Listen up/in Clew. They all can have that cruel streak, you just never know when it will burst forth & **** your life up forever.

Reminds me of a stupid little joke from yonks back somewhere.

Picture this, a WW2 Japanese 2 man sub in Sydney Harbour. Junior sailor (or CPO) gets ****ed off because the other guy keeps referring to him as Clew/Crew.

    "DON"T CALL ME CLEW OK?"

I guess you had to be there.

BTW, you could have shot yourself in the foot there matey.

She could have said" Vet with Medical issues eh? If you hadn't partaken of HM Rum Ration to excess you probably wouldn't have any Medical issues" She may have not said it but I bet she thought it though.

PS. Remember to come up with a clever reply of some sort when the Injecting Nurse says to you "Just a little ***** Bob."

She will probably say summat like "Jezuz do you know how many times I've heard that this week Bobby?"

Easy. I just say " you remind me of Betty Grable in " Sweet Rosie O'Grady ". Never fails. Unless they are too young to remember Betty Grable.
