    Good on ya Bill
About a month ago now i made sure i had 2 weeks supply of food. (got dogged hard by the members here for being prepared)
No work or any work related activity. (a luxury for me granted)
I pulled my children out of school. (read back you will see i said so and school will close and people dogged me)
I started limiting exposure to the world in general.

Yea not quite 3 months but i did prepare. Actually even more than i post above.

I organised solar panels about a month ago, new batteries for my camper should stuff go bad, yea a lot of prep i guess and still am.

Our situation is complicated by having my 88 year old FIL with us. He needs the isolation of a cabin and a night's sleep to cope with the rest of the long journey home.
We're also over the 2.1 metre height limit, so in the tall vehicles section, and almost 9 metres long with the camper, so that limited our options.
So now to get off the boat on Tuesday morning and zoom out of Victoria by later in the day, heading for Lismore and then Maleny, to hide out until the country stops being crazy.
Already planning to come back to Tassie next year and see the rest of the state in normal conditions.
    Safe trip, mate.

Don't get coughed on by a leper with corona virus!
There's dry, and wet, leprosy. Highlighted in the excellent book [ and movie] Papillon.

China has, maybe, (according to who you believe) got on top of it, apparently with very draconian measures,.....I'm not sure whether we in Aussie are prepared to accept, or are even capable of, such measures, or even in some cases "do as we're told".
The easiest way to beat the virus is to isolate, stay at home,...the theory is if ya're not infected, if ya stay at home, ya've got a good chance of being ok. That is what I'm doing, I'm staying home. Absolutely boring, a horrible way to spend the day, but the best & safest way for Karen & I.
My belief is that if we don't "isolate" (and all that it means), the consequences for Aussie are unthinkable.
    Pickles.

For what it is worth, SA's rate of new infections is reportedly Slowing.

Fingers crossed, all states will follow suit.

I'm not sure this is going away any time soon. From what I've seen it's a delicate balance between "flattening the curve" and creating "herd immunity" to prevent it recurring. Fun times ahead.
Flattening of the curve is just the beginning. A vaccine is the only real way to beat this virus. And that is coming. This time we need to learn the lessons that we seem to have ignored in the past. As for China, Hong Kong is a condensed version, and they are coping after the curve flattened, but with a vastly different lifestyle.

"But whether this can be sustained depends on the entire population. Fighting a pandemic is never a one-person job, but a collective effort. Many people in Hong Kong have learned their lessons. Wear a mask, wash your hands, and avoid unnecessary social contact and travelling. By taking care of yourself, you are also protecting others from getting infected."

How people power has flattened the Covid curve in Hong Kong
