And when they have all had outcomes then and only then will there be an accurate figure, until then that observation is just pie in the sky...

And because so many have it and have not been recorded as having it (That is likely based on how it spreads and how little of the population has been tested) and because the percentages of those who had an outcome and died were only those who tested as positive, the death rate versus recovery rate is misleading. The only figure that counts is the percentage who died of all of those with the disease. Otherwise the numbers are skewed.

Last horse I shared Guinness with (Seth, my young fencing pack-horse [welsh pony/quarter horse cross]) developed a taste for it and became a problem after work! Stroppy young shyster of a horse.

I eventually had to switch to high-quality single-malt. Seth refused to imbibe after that, but the rooster loved a dipped crust or two.

I prefer to concentrate on the living, thank you. All the best.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Bet the hens loved him. I guess that proves the old saying , in uncertain times, hit the top shelf. [ well, not really an old saying, I just made it up]

Inc I get what you are saying but from a statistical viewpoint there is no mortality rate from the disease, actual nor predicted at anything like 6% or more. I think we are not necessarily disagreeing about the stats, just what it all really means.

    Cheers

Other way around Bob, after a couple of crusts, he really loved his hens... it was his hangover you had to watch though. You knew his favorites in a hangover.

My take on numbers currently being touted is that the important one at the moment is the trend of the newly declared cases. Exponentiation is a kicker.

it's there in black and white, it means exactly what it shows... i cannot see how it could be misconstrued any other way myself...

whether or not they want to talk about it / view it from that perspective, is a whole different thing.

“A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.” Attributed to Joseph Stalin

Another one I saw while verifying the source of the last one...

“A recent survey or North American males found 42% were overweight, 34% were critically obese and 8% ate the survey.” Attributed to Banksy
